Dr Josephine (Jo) Ryan from ACU’s Faculty of Education and Arts last week celebrated 25 years of service to ACU.
Dr Ryan is currently the Deputy Head of the School of Education in Melbourne and Senior Lecturer in English/Literacy Education.
Dr Ryan began working at ACU’s Aquinas Campus in Ballarat in 1993, teaching literacy and English to undergraduate primary and secondary students.
She then went on to work in the Department of Humanities at the former Christ Campus in Melbourne, before moving with ACU to the St Patrick’s Campus in Melbourne.
Throughout her time with ACU, Dr Ryan has been an integral part of the literacy discipline team and continues to teach in both the primary and secondary education courses. She has also served as a course advisor for the Master of Teaching (Secondary) and Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts courses.
Dr Ryan also played an integral role in the Catholic Teacher Education Consortium (CTEC) Program, which has helped ACU forge strong partnerships to assist pre-service teachers who want to teach in Catholic schools in high-need areas.
Dr Ryan was also conference committee member for the World Federation of Associations for Teacher Education (WFATE) 2018 conference, which was held at the St Patrick’s Campus in Melbourne earlier this year.
ACU thanks and congratulates Dr Ryan for her service to the University over the past 25 years.
