Time to start thinking about the 2019 ACU Teaching Awards

ACU Citations are designed to recognise and reward staff who have made a significant contribution to student learning at the University. There are several different categories outlined in the table below.

In addition, the Vice-Chancellor’s Teaching Excellence Award and the Vice-Chancellor’s Postgraduate Teaching Award (part of the ACU Postgraduate Strategy) give recognition to teachers (individuals and teams) renowned for their excellent teaching and their deep contribution to enhancing the quality of learning and teaching in higher education. Both awards are open to either full-time or part-time academic staff with at least five years of service in the University.

The assessment criteria for the awards are:

  • approaches to teaching and the support of learning that influence, motivate and inspire students to learn
  • development of curricula, resources or services that reflect a command of the field
  • evaluation practices that bring about improvements in teaching and learning
  • innovation, leadership or scholarship that has influenced and enhanced learning and teaching and/or the student experience.
