Congratulations Professor Sandy Middleton

Congratulations to Professor Sandy Middleton, Director of the Nursing Research Institute (NRI)), on receiving a Fellowship to the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences. The NRI is a collaboration between Australian Catholic University, St Vincent’s Health Australia Sydney and St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne,

In October, the Academy announced the election of 40 new Fellows in recognition of their outstanding contributions to health and medical research in Australia. Election to the Academy is recognition for the high impact and rigour of Professor Middleton's program of stroke research.

This program of research in the area of stroke has resulted in changes to health policy, health system cost savings, and improved patient outcomes and has attracted strong interest and engagement nationally and internationally. Professor Middleton is one of only three nurses to be admitted to the Academy.
