In times of uncertainty, we can sometimes feel like many things are outside of our control. Focusing attention on what’s in the sphere of your control can be helpful in improving both our outlook and the ability to manage stress.
Here are some ways to help you stay focused.
Understand that uncertainty looks different for many people right now. For some of our colleagues, like those in Victoria especially, freedom of movement is hindered with lockdown restrictions continuing.
This can be overwhelming for those who are either personally impacted or have friends and loved ones who are. Some of these circumstances can be entirely out of one’s sphere of control.
Remember to remain mindful of any additional stress others may be experiencing at this time and the small ways you show your support.
One of the goals you set could be to dedicate some time to helping others. This could be something as small as calling or messaging a colleague once a week to check in, arranging a celebration of a team achievement or birthday virtually, or volunteering some time to make masks for others.
Need help setting those goals? Check out Successful Goal Setting via LinkedIn Learning.
Also, you can participate in the Manage Stress for Positive Change course to add some new techniques to your toolbox on how to deal with stress.
Keep an eye on the Learning and Development Workplace group as we release additional dates for the Embracing Change virtual workshops.

We are committed to your health and wellbeing at ACU.
For our staff on campus, we have increased cleaning, provided hand sanitiser, displayed signage to provide guidance on hygiene and maintaining distance around lifts and meeting places, and made adjustments to some amenities and thoroughfares to help with social distancing and to maintain your safety.
As we continue to follow the advice of the government and health authorities of each state, our return to campus FAQs are constantly being updated to help answer your questions. You can also ask a question through Service Central.
