An ACU Engagement update:
ACU’s Stakeholder Engaged Scholarship Unit (SESU) is seeking expressions of interest for scholarship projects from organisations working in areas central to the university’s mission and ethos.
Organisations supporting people who experience disadvantage or marginalisation may propose a project designed to inform, evaluate or enhance their services, or participate in a multi-partner project about a systemic or ‘big’ issue in the community sector.
ACU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Engagement), Professor Sandra Jones, says the university’s SESU provides organisations with academic support to investigate issues that are important for their clients and services.
“Stakeholder Engaged Scholarship projects are partner-driven and founded on the principles of high-quality engagement,” Professor Jones says.
“Our researchers work with organisations to address the real-world problems that affect them. They work together to identify solutions that have a positive impact on the individuals and communities they serve, and build organisational capacity to support those most in need.”
The opening of the second round comes after ACU’s recent announcement of the five projects that were successful in the first round of applications. The projects will assist organisations in their work to better the lives of individuals experiencing disadvantage or marginalisation in Australia and overseas.
ACU staff are welcome to share the SESU call for expressions of interest with organisations in their network.
The deadline for expressions of interest is 5pm on Wednesday 27 January 2021.
