Open Education Week

Open Education Week (2-6 March) aims to celebrate the global open education movement. Open education is about sharing knowledge and resources, upon which new knowledge and skills can be built.

Open educational resources (OER) provide affordable learning resources for students which they can continue to access throughout their life-long learning. Read more

Using OER resources means you can tailor the resource to the needs of your students.

To help you make OER choices we have implemented Faculty Select which combines searches of Open Textbook Library, OAPEN Library and Open SUNY textbooks to help you locate OER resources.

We can also help you with:

  • sourcing more quality open education resources for you to use in your units with our guide
  • information on licensing your own content as Creative Commons to make it accessible and reusable.

Contributing your own OER’s allows you to contribute to a growing movement and to share your own knowledge in a different way. You can learn how to do this on the Open Education week website
