ShareBike, walk and stretch your way to a healthier October with these free ACU Sport programs available to all staff.
The Biketober Challenge, hosted by ACU Sport in conjunction with The Track, aims to motivate ACU students and staff to be physically active, create social interaction among each other, provide friendly competition, and look towards cycling as a mode of transport.
This program is free to join and will provide participants with information about cycling and motivation to complete each weekly challenge with the incentive of various prizes aimed to assist in long-term cycling development.
To register, RSVP to the Biketober event on ACU Life and be sure to follow @ACUSport on Instagram for weekly challenges and bike safety tips.
Contact admin.sport@acu.edu.au with any issues – and let’s get pedalling!
We are down to the final week of the Australasian University Health Challenge (AUHC) and we need to step up our steps game.
ACU is currently sitting in 11th position; however, this challenge goes down to the wire.
All movement can be converted to steps, so whether you cycle, do a fitness class or pace it out on the pavement, get behind ACU in the AUHC.
If you are new to the challenge, head to the 10,000 steps website and select ACU to join the challenge team, then simply sync your steps (step count can be backdated from 1 September – cheeky but true).
If you are already part of the challenge, don’t forget to finalise syncing your steps by 11.59pm on Monday 12 October.
Need more of an incentive? All participants who have consecutively synced steps throughout the entire challenge will go into the draw to win a Garmin watch.
Time to get stepping!
Contact admin.sport@acu.edu.au for any assistance with sign-up or syncing steps.
Join ACU Sport Gym every Tuesday at 5.30pm (AEDT) and Thursday at 1pm (AEDT) for a free live yoga class on Zoom.
Contact ACU.SportGym@acu.edu.au with any questions.
