Learning about respect: a student perspective

The Respect. Now. Always. (RNA) initiative reaches staff and students across all campuses. In this video, Deanna Uremovic talks about the impact the campaign has on students.

As a fourth-year nursing student, Deanna understands the importance of helping students feel safe in the university, and as a member of the RNA Advisory Committee, Deanna champions student voices. In these meetings, Deanna adds the perspective of student experiences to discussions that range from local campus initiatives to nationwide programs that are diverse and welcoming to all students.

Deanna believes that the RNA initiative is like a safety net. When a tough situation occurs, it helps students feel safe and offers a path to speak up.

It also has benefits beyond the university, equipping students with valuable skills to take into the workforce and their communities and helping them to spread awareness that will have a positive impact on future generations.
