New Dean of Thomas More Law School commences

Professor Patrick Keyzer has commenced as the Dean of Law, Thomas More Law School, Faculty of Law and Business. 

Patrick is located in Melbourne having moved from La Trobe University, where he has held leadership roles including Head, La Trobe Law School and Professor of Law and Public Policy. Patrick has been Director, Centre for Law, Governance and Public Policy, and Associate Dean and Deputy Dean at Bond University, and Director (Research) Faculty of Law at University of Technology Sydney. He has extensive experience in strategic leadership of both academic and research portfolios, in university governance and externally through his membership of various foundations.

Patrick is a leading scholar with a significant record of research outputs of an interdisciplinary nature, which are reflected in publications in law journals reaching into other disciplines. He has won various competitive grants including ARC projects. He has been a practicing barrister, continuously on a part-time basis since 1998. His pro bono representation of Indigenous people, prisoners and people with a disability has been recognised nationally.
