Vice-Chancellor Professor Zlatko Skrbis has launched a revised ACU Data Strategy with the release of a video and a revised strategy document.
The Data Strategy will support ACU to improve outcomes for students, staff and other stakeholders, and to gain significant commercial and operational benefits through:
Watch as Professor Skrbis introduces the Data Strategy, explains how it will benefit ACU, and shares how you can learn more.
As part of the Data Strategy, Professor Skrbis recently approved a revision of the Data and Information Governance Policy and a new accompanying procedure and classification framework. Together, these documents provide the foundation for aligning ACU’s data and information systems, reports and practices to contemporary best practice.
You can learn more about these improvements in data and information governance – and what these mean for you in your day-to-day work – in a series of training workshops delivered from April.
You can register for these workshops online:
Module 1 – for all data users
Module 2 – for data stewards, managers and developers (prerequisite: Module 1)
A number of data governance, management, quality, culture and capability development initiatives are planned or underway through the Data Strategy. These are designed to develop, streamline and align our data management systems, improve our data management skills and practices and improve data quality.
If you require data for your work, you can access data reports and ongoing support through the ACU DataHub. The DataHub provides a central collection of ACU data from multiple sources within the university, accessible through a single access point.
DataHub training workshops will be held during April. You can register for these workshops online.
A new Data Analytics Road Map that prioritises and develops data analytics and BI systems and reports is also being developed and will be shared with you in time.
If you would like to know more about the Data Strategy, you can contact OPSM Project Manager Andrew Cole or Director of Planning and Strategic Management Omer Yezdani.
For updates on this work, join the ACU DataHub group and OPSM Updates group on Workplace.
