We're introducing our Alumni Awards 2021 winners and sharing how they’re making a difference in their communities across the world.

This week, meet the recipients of the ACU Research/Scholarship Alumni Award, Professor Shane Clifton PhD, and the Young Alumni Award for 2021, Malaika Mfula.

Research/Scholarship Alumni Award

Professor Shane Clifton, PhD is a theologian, ethicist, and academic. After an accident left him with a spinal cord injury, he focused his work and research on the flourishing of people with disability and he helps people living with disability explore meaning and purpose.

Young Alumni of the Year

Malaika Mfula completed the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Global Studies at ACU. She is the Program Manager at the Exchange, a social impact organisation in Dubbo in regional New South Wales. Malaika is committed to helping women achieve economic empowerment and financial freedom through business workshops and programs.
