The 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month holds a special significance of remembrance for those who died, not only in this long four-year battle, but in every war.
It is now 103 years since the armistice was called at 11am on 11 November 1918. When the guns fell silent and war had come to an end. It was the hour for peace. We come together as a nation, in silence and in prayer, to remember them.
Join our Campus Ministry commemorative services next Thursday, to reflect and remember those brave men and women who gave their lives serving and protecting our nation.
You are asked to gather at 10.45am for services at the Brisbane Campus by the flagpoles (outside building 225), and at the North Sydney Campus by the flagpoles (at the main entrance in front of Building 500).
For those who cannot make our on-campus commemorations, a national online service will be available:
When:10.45am on Thursday 11 November
Where: Online via Zoom – Save this link in your calendar and click on the day to attend.
Please let us all join as one ACU community this Remembrance Day to commemorate our fallen soldiers and our aspirations for peace.
Lest we forget.
