Simplifying 'requests to fill'

From early January 2022, you should complete a ‘Request to Fill’ form in Staff Connect for any new recruitment requests, as part of our ACU-wide recruitment process changes.

Using a 'Request to Fill' form

The ‘Request to Fill’ form is currently used for Internal Appointments only.

In January 2022, the ‘Request to Fill’ form will be expanded to include all advertised recruitment, this will include the following recruitment activities:

  • expressions of Interest
  • external advertising
  • internal advertising
  • Student Jobs on Campus
  • talent pools
  • online reference checks (XRef)
Features and functions

The ‘Request to Fill’ form provides key features and functions:

  • the format and design will be like many other employment-related forms and processes that you engage with in Staff Connect
  • pre-population of currently stored employment and position data in the form, reducing duplication
  • the form will source an electronic version of the Position Description if it has been reviewed via the Position Review form in the last 12 months
  • bubbles of information or further help to guide you through particular sections
  • a more flexible approval workflow process for supervisors to suit their circumstances, with the university delegations met
  • acceptance of contract or employment offers through Staff Connect, for dynamic employment record updating and a better employee experience

If you are thinking to undertake recruitment in the near future, you can commence review of the position description using a 'Position Review' form in Staff Connect.

Key dates

Submit new recruitment requests in PageUp before 13 December 2021.

New recruitment requests will commence in Staff Connect from 10 January 2022.

For any urgent requests outside of these dates, please contact Human Resources via Service Central.
