Disability Service has a new name

ACU’s Disability Service has changed its name to Access and Disability Service after sector benchmarking and student consultation.

The Access and Disability Service provides educational adjustments for students to uphold the dignity of the human person, contribute to the common good and enable students to participate in the pursuit of knowledge at ACU. We are strongly committed to supporting diversity and accessibility by providing equitable access to education in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 through the Disability Standards for Education 2005.

Students with a temporary or ongoing mental health or medical condition, disability, neurodiversity or who have significant carer responsibilities can access our service to develop an Education Inclusion Plan (EIP). We are available to consult with academic staff regarding the provisions of educational adjustments and universal design principles.

All staff are welcome to refer students to the service by providing the student with our contact details. Please encourage students to access our Student Portal webpage where they can find information regarding our service and book a confidential appointment with one of our Access and Disability Advisors.
