Changes to Flexible Working Arrangement requests

Requests for a Flexible Working Arrangement (FWA) have moved to Staff Connect delivering a range of improved features, reducing the administrative processes and providing a better experience for everyone. 

This means that both initial requests and renewals of Flexible Work Arrangements will no longer need to be raised through Service Central 

Why the change?

Having FWA requests in Staff Connect improves the ongoing management and reporting of these arrangements and eliminates some of the manual processes.

The improved FWA request process now features:

• easier access through Staff Connect
• reminders to staff and supervisors when FWAs are due to expire
• automated reminders to approvers to encourage a response within 21 days
• ability to request an FWA separately for staff who may have multiple positions
• future visibility and access to historical FWAs
• easier reporting over existing FWA arrangements

Transition arrangements

Existing FWA requests, already submitted in Service Central and which have not yet been finalised, should continue to be progressed in Service Central and actioned by supervisors as soon as possible.

New FWAs and FWAs that are due for renewal will now be submitted via the Flexible Working Arrangements request in Staff Connect.

To initiate a new request:

• login to Staff Connect
• navigate to the Dashboard > My Forms
• raise a new form using the green +Add icon
• choose ‘Flexible Working Arrangement’ in the forms drop down box
• select 'next' to initiate.
