ACU Library. Where knowledge creates impact.
ACU Library is changing. With recent developments in the higher education environment, the increasing importance of AI and other emerging technologies, the rollout of ACU Thrive and the ongoing commitment to online teaching and learning, the time is right for ACU Library to re-focus and redefine our services and ourselves.
Our commitment hasn’t changed. We are still 100% focused on you and your teaching and research needs. We’ll just be doing some things differently.
To start, we have introduced a new email address: library@acu.edu.au
Use this email address to contact us about anything library related. We will make sure it is directed to the appropriate team or staff member to respond to your query. Alternatively, you can continue to use chat and the other options on our Contact Us page on the Library website.
We’ve created three new teams - Academic Engagement, Learning & Capability and Spaces & Collections.
Our Academic Engagement team will provide expert advice and specialist library services to postgraduate students and academic staff in faculties and research centres.
The Learning & Capability team will lead the development of digital learning objects and programs that enhance student learning.
Our Spaces & Collections team will continue our vital on-campus presence, managing our library spaces and the day-to-day operation of our libraries.
Our Research Engagement team (formerly Research Services) is expanding in recognition of the importance of ACU’s research agenda. Their focus will be on identifying and developing services that meet the important and evolving needs of our researchers and HDR students.
To better align with ACU Thrive and other university initiatives our focus will be developing just in time digital resources that address specific learning outcomes. Our data shows that most of our current sessions are introductory for first years. This content continues to be available online via Library Basics and Assessment Help.
We’re still here. We’re on campus. Students can continue to contact us via chat, email, phone and in person.
We’re excited to announce these changes and look forward to continuing our work with you in the future.
