The Southern Hemisphere seasonal influenza vaccine provides protection against the seasonal strains as recommended by the World Health Organisation. By reducing the risk of contracting the flu, the vaccine can reduce the threat of catching the flu and COVID-19 at the same time, which could ‘overwhelm’ the body. Please read Australian Department of Health guidance for more information.
If you are unsure about whether you should be vaccinated, please seek advice from your doctor first.
Please wear a mask and bring your Medicare card with you if you attend an ACU Medical Centre as your vaccination will be bulk billed. You will also need to complete a new patient form if it is your first visit to a centre.
