Research Data Management Planning

Register for the next Research Essentials workshop on 11 April, which will explore Research Data Management Planning.

ACU Library’s Research Engagement team is running their Research Essentials skills sessions again in 2024. Researchers are encouraged to keep an eye on the Library Training and Events page and sign up to any and all sessions of interest.

The next session is for the Research Data Management stream: RDM Planning. There are still spaces available for ‘Research Essentials: Research Data Management Planning’. This session sits among a series of three RDM sessions: FAIR; Sensitive Data; and Research Data Management Planning.

A data management plan (DMP) is a living document for a research project which outlines data creation, data policies, access and ownership rules, management practices, management facilities and equipment, and who will be responsible for what. The Australian Research Data Commons provides excellent advice that informs this session.

'Research Data Management Planning' is intended as a thorough checkbox exercise that sets out intentions and methods for achieving compliant research data that maximises usefulness and impact. Research Data Management Plans should cover the FAIR principles and Sensitive Data, topics covered in the two previous Research Data sessions.

The session will be held online via Zoom on 11 April, 2024 at 2pm AEDT.
