The 2024 IWD theme ‘Count her in: Invest in women. Accelerate Progress’ acknowledges that women’s economic empowerment is central to a gender equal world and that when women are given equal opportunities to earn, learn and lead – entire communities thrive.
You’re invited to join an online conversation between Provost Professor Julie Cogin and ACU alumna Ms Tara Croker on Thursday 7 March.
You’ll have the opportunity to hear about Ms Croker’s remarkable achievements and recent entrepreneurial success as founder of Yaala Sparkling. Ms Croker will share insights from her career progression including her time working at Google.

As a proud Wiradjuri woman, Tara Croker boasts a career in marketing across technology, media, and Indigenous affairs, where she has cultivated her business expertise and commitment to making an impact in the community.
The founder behind Yaala Sparkling, an Indigenous-owned beverage company, Ms Croker celebrates her cultural heritage through the creation of unique, healthy drinks infused with native Australian ingredients.
In addition to her professional achievements, Tara spends time mentoring young Indigenous students and spearheading reconciliation initiatives. Ms Croker graduated with a dual degree in Business Administration and Global Studies and fondly remembers her time studying at our McAuley at Banyo Campus and with the Weemala Indigenous Higher Education Unit. She has maintained strong ties with ACU and currently serves on the Vice-Chancellor's Alumni Advisory Board.
