Include an additional SELT survey item

The SELT surveys are conducted for all coursework units with 10 or more students in accordance with the Evaluation of Learning and Teaching Policy and related Procedures.

In addition to the SELT core items (rating-type questions) automatically included in the survey, each teaching staff member (lecturer/tutor) has the opportunity to include one additional survey item of their own composition in relation to their teaching in a unit.

The survey item can focus on an aspect of an individual’s teaching practice or behaviour that they wish to seek feedback on. The response options for this item include Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree and Strongly Disagree. Some examples of optional items are:

Overall, [lecturer/tutor]…

  • provided clear instructions for completing the assignment task.
  • provided opportunities to demonstrate and share my [specific knowledge/skill] in classes.
  • teaches in ways that emphasize the relevance of this unit to my future profession.
  • supports the learning experience of online student.
  • shows interest in my welfare and learning by reaching out.
  • helped to increase my confidence in……[specific aspect of knowledge/skill development].

The opportunity to request an additional survey item will close on Monday, 18 November 2024.

If you received an email about this process sent from Evaluations.CEI@acu.edu.au, it means:

  1. Your name has been verified by your respective Faculty or School nominee for a SELT survey.
  2. Your details are available in the staff directory maintained by People & Capability.
  3. The unit has an enrolment of 10 or more students enrolled in the Banner system.

If you did not receive an email invitation, then the criteria listed above were not met.

If you received the email invitation and you are not teaching in a unit, please inform CEI Evaluations Team immediately, so that we can remove your name before the surveys open to students.
