ACEN webinar: Placement Poverty

The Australian Collaborative Education Network (ACEN) is hosting a chapter led conversation, exploring the multifaceted challenges that university students face when balancing Work Integrated Learning (WIL) with their academic commitments.

Hear from students as they discuss the real-world difficulties experienced while undertaking placements, including:

  • financial pressures
  • mental and physical health
  • time management struggles
  • academic performance impact
  • skill development vs. academic focus

The panel will feature students and a representative from the Student Guild, who will share firsthand experiences and challenges faced by their peers and discuss how student organisations work to address these issues. Additionally, senior management from student engagement will discuss their efforts to support students during placements and preparations for the Commonwealth Prac Payments.

The session is open nationally to all ACU staff and will be held online.

Date and time: 1 – 2pm, 26 September 2024
