A message from the Provost, Professor Julie Cogin.
This week our campuses have been reinvigorated with energy as we host our Orientation days across our seven campuses and prepare to welcome students to the beginning of the academic year.
Orientation is an opportunity for our new students to explore ACU, get to know their campus, attend campus tours, learn more about their chosen course, make friends, check out our clubs and societies, and speak to our expert staff.
Our Getting Started days provide an extra layer of support for any students who want some extra, one-on-one support and peer-connection before the start of semester. The program explores common challenges that students experience throughout their first year at university and gives them an opportunity to connect with student mentors, so they can feel confident, supported and ready for their new journey.
While this is an exciting time for many, it can also be a little overwhelming. So, I wanted to take a moment to remind you about our additional support services for students, including 24/7 academic support, counselling services, and campus ministry. It’s important that we all do our part to welcome students to our community and ensure they know that support is there if they need it.
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time this week to help with our welcome zones. The sense of community and empathy that your contribution forges are what makes ACU such a special place to be.
I am so looking forward to welcoming our new and returning students to campus next week and am excited for the new year ahead.
