New Authority to Act Policy and Procedure

An Authority to Act Policy and Authority to Act Procedure were approved at Academic Board at the meeting of 18 September 2024, and came into effect from 1 January 2025.

Prior to the development of this policy and procedure, ACU did not have a formal policy in place to deal with requests from a student for a party to act on behalf of that student.

Following an environmental scan and consultation with stakeholders across ACU, the policy and procedure were developed by the Office of the Academic Registrar in conjunction with the National Manager, Enrolments and Student Records to:

• set out principles around permitting authority of a person/entity to act on behalf of a student and revocation of such authority.
• set out processes and responsibilities around permitting and revoking authority.
