Mental Health First Aid

About the Session

This program is designed for staff wanting to gain the skills and confidence to recognise and provide initial level assistance to others experiencing a mental health issue or crisis until the appropriate professional help is received or crisis resolves.

Please note this workshop is completed over 2 days - attendance on both days is mandatory.

On successful completion of this course, you will be a nationally Accredited Mental Health First Aider for 3 years, including if you wish to be public identified at ACU as a Mental Health First Aider for other staff.

In this interactive course, you will learn about identifying the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues (Depression, Anxiety, Psychosis, and Substance use problems), how to provide initial help, know what professional help is available and how to access it, and learn how to handle common mental health crises.
