About the Session
This online course is for ACU staff who have previously completed a standard Mental Health First Aid course, approximately 3 years ago, and whose initial accreditation is due to expire, or has recently expired. If you are an accredited Mental Health First Aider, completing this refresher training and the accompanying quiz will extend your accreditation for a further 3 years. If you have not completed a MHFA course in the relevant timeframe, you cannot become accredited with this course – you would need to complete the full standard MHFA training to do this.
Program Outline:
- A review and update of information about mental health problems
- A recap of the MHFA action plan (ALGEE)
- Practice applying the action plan to scenarios
- Skills practice exercises
- Information about reaccreditation
Learning Outcomes: After participating in the training, learners will:
- Gain an understanding of the latest research in the mental health field
