Positive Psychology is the scientific study of human flourishing and an applied approach to optimal functioning. It has been defined as the study of the strengths and virtues that enable individuals, communities and organisations to thrive.
This topic is based around the PERMAH Model of positive psychology. Based on the famous work of Martin Seligman, this topic is designed to help people learn how to flourish and identify their own strengths and development areas. Learners will be challenged to create a personal action plan and take a positive approach to their mental health and wellbeing.
What you will learn in this topic:
• You will gain a deeper understanding of positive psychology and the PERMAH Model.
• You will have an opportunity to identify and understand your strengths and ways to apply and reinforce those strengths.
• You will learn the importance of taking a positive psychology approach to your wellbeing and use the PERMAH Model to create a Wellbeing Action Plan.
