The 2017 Creative and Performing Art (CAPA) showcase is a program offered by Student Enrichment within the Office of Student Success.
Local CAPA events were held on each campus during weeks three and four of semester 2 and showcased a diverse range of student’s creative interpretations of this year’s theme - “Inside Out. Make a Change. See Things Differently”.
Performances included drama/dance, poetry/spoken word and music, and displays of visual arts, photography and short film.
Over 200 ACU students registered nationally to participate. Some Faculty and professional staff on each campus supported the program by sharing their expertise in judging the creative art entries, photos and films, whilst performance items were judged during the local showcase events.
All first place winners of performance (Drama/Dance, Music and Poetry/Spoken Word items) have now been invited to the National showcase event where they will be judged against each other for the winning national place and cash prize of $1000. The Runner Up performance from these categories will receive $500. The creative winning submissions (Visual Arts, Short Film and Photography) from each campus will also be on display at the national event and will be awarded the same First place and Runners Up prizes.
Student Enrichment invite staff and students to attend the National CAPA Showcase event on Monday 18 September in the Peter Cosgrove Centre, Level 18 Tenison Woods House, North Sydney. The program will commence at 11am and finish at approximately 12.30pm. Light refreshments will be served.
