2020 Academic Promotions round

Normally the annual academic promotion round opens no later than 1 April in each year. In the current context and organisational priorities, the 2020 Academic Promotions round will be delayed and will now open on 13 May 2020.

Key dates:

• 13 May 2020: Opens for all academic levels (Levels B to E)
• 31 July 2020: Applications to Associate Professor / Professor (Levels D/E) close at 5pm AEDT
• 31 July 2020: Applications to Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (Levels B/C) close at 5pm AEDT
• 1 January 2021: Promotions take effect

How can I prepare?

A range of important information about the promotions process, including access to the Academic Promotions policy, procedures, application and Case for Promotions forms, guidelines and supporting materials is now available from the Academic Promotions webpages.

Staff members who are considering applying can access exemplar applications from past successful applicants or workshop session material and discuss their plans with their nominated supervisor.

Information sessions

Information sessions scheduled for April will be placed on hold and staff who have registered will be advised accordingly.  Further information on the rescheduled information sessions will be made available closer to the opening of the round.
