Kaltura and Adobe Connect retire in 2021

In January and February, ACU is consolidating streaming video services for LEO into Echo360, and consolidating online videoconferencing for learning and teaching into Zoom. Kaltura and Adobe Connect will soon be retired. 

If you are an academic or professional staff member who uses Adobe Connect for teaching purposes, and/or is in charge of maintaining Adobe Connect recordings in LEO units, or is in charge of maintaining video content in LEO and have been using Kaltura, you will be required to make updates to your units. 
Retiring Kaltura

To further enhance Echo 360’s integration with LEO, and in particular, its use in assignment submissions, ACU is consolidating streaming video services for LEO into Echo360 and will be retiring Kaltura. All staff producing LEO streaming videos will benefit from the unlimited storage available in Echo 360.

Between January - 30 September 2021:

  • You can no longer upload or record new videos to Kaltura.
  • An Echo 360 button has replaced the 'Add Kaltura media' button in the Text Editor. 
  • All LEO users are still able to view and download their Kaltura videos.

Retiring Adobe Connect

To benefit from the superior reliability of Zoom meetings, including the ability to record meetings online with automatic, unlimited storage in Echo 360, ACU is consolidating online videoconferencing for learning and teaching into Zoom and will soon be retiring Adobe Connect.

Between February - December 2021:
  • You will no longer be able to create new Adobe Connect meetings using the external tool (LTI) in LEO.
  • You will still be able to view and download Adobe Connect recordings.
