This year, NAIDOC Week is celebrated from 4-11 July with the theme Heal Country!
Heal Country! calls for stronger measures to recognise, protect, and maintain all aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage. It is about embracing First Nation’s cultural knowledge and understanding of Country as part of Australia’s national heritage, caring for country, and working towards properly redressing historical injustice.
ACU encourages all students and staff to participate in community-organised activities this NAIDOC Week to celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Visit the NAIDOC website to locate local celebrations.
ACU will host NAIDOC events on our campuses from 9-13 August. Details will be shared in upcoming news items and in your local campus Workplace group.
The First Peoples Directorate invites all staff and students to join in celebrations with the local Indigenous Higher Education Unit.
