ADCET Assist

The Access and Disability Service is excited to announce ADCET Assist is returning in 2025.

What is ADCET Assist?

ADCET Assist is a free service that offers one-on-one and small group online sessions to assist educators and disability support staff across the tertiary sector. Sessions are facilitated by ADCET and are currently available in March and April on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and can be booked using ADCET's booking form.

Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training’s (ADCET) mission is to contribute to the improvement of the educational experiences and to the successful outcomes for students with disability in post-secondary education. ADCET is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and is hosted by the University of Tasmania.

ADCET Assist covers a wide range of topics, including:

  • individual student assistive technology options (I have a student.....)
  • ccessible mathematics and STEM subjects
  • Universal Design for Learning
  • creating accessible emails
  • creating inclusive teaching materials
  • inclusive unit/course design
  • learning Management Systems and accessibility
  • video captioning and subtitling
  • developing accessible eLearning resources
  • dictation and transcription software
  • web/Digital accessibility
  • testing for accessibility
  • augmented/virtual reality
  • automation and AI
  • developing accessible assessments
