ACU’s Digital Workspace was rolled out ahead of schedule to respond to the overwhelming need to have a functional, seamless digital work environment.
We’re starting to shift back to campus and offices and take our first looks at our newest new normal, but some things from the remote times will stay the same. Here are some of the tools you’ll still be able to use, and some of the features you’ll only start to use, back on campus:
We’re all on Teams and it’s only getting bigger! With over 6,000 Teams accounts enabled (and 2,200+ phone lines), ACU staff are operating in a digital collaboration space that keeps your teams together no matter where they are.
ACU will keep using Teams for phone calls, meetings, chat and collaboration as we return to campus (and long after).
We’re upgraded 54 conferences rooms with the latest video conferencing and room management technology.
Upgraded rooms by campus:
Back on campus, you’ll use Robin to book meeting spaces in Outlook and manage on-the-go meetings on campus via new room resource panels. These panels will be mounted outside bookable spaces to let you know if a room is available (and for how long).
Your work files are coming with you anytime, anywhere on any device.
Now that your H:\ drive files are located in OneDrive for Business, you can work from the office or from home and always have the latest version of your working files with you.
We’ve been moving your old SharePoint sites into the new SharePoint Online, so you can enjoy the seamless collaboration and document management you know and love from Microsoft cloud services.
By now you’ve all been introduced to AVA: ACU’s Virtual Assistant. She’s a handy info bot located in your Teams chat interface.
AVA’s still learning now, but her knowledge covers our ongoing COVID-19 response, Working from Home information, and her own database of Microsoft program information.
You can search Service Central Knowledge Base through AVA too – for best results, try searching for simple sentences or a few key words. AVA will also connect you to the Service Central portal for livechat with a Service Central Officer, or log a service ticket.
We’re excited to see everyone in real life again. To keep up to date with the latest IT and Digital Workspace tips and tricks, subscribe to the IT Updates Workplace page.
