This week, the Advancement and Alumni team is delighted to announce the winners of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Award, Nicola Barker, and the Community Engagement Award, Bronwyn Sheehan OAM.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Award
Nicola Barker is a Murawarii and Wangkumara woman who completed a Bachelor of Social Work in 2019. Nicola's passion lies in education, justice, health, and the wellbeing of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

Community Engagement Award
Bronwyn Sheehan OAM studied nursing at ACU and worked in Brisbane hospitals for many years as a dedicated nurse and midwife. Bronwyn founded The Pyjama Foundation in 2004 to help and empower children in care achieve their dreams through learning.
